FREQUENCY OF THYROID DYSFUNCTION IN CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE PATIENTS

Objectives: To determine the frequency of thyroid dysfunction in chronic kidney disease patients.
 Methods: It was a Cross-sectional Study at department Medicine, Bahawal Victoria Hospital, Bahawalpur. Duration study from 20th October 2018 to 19th April 2019. 72 patients with disease, 20 60 years age and both genders were included. Patients known disorders or taking medication that can affect function (dopamine antagonists, antiepileptic, oral contraceptives, lithium, glucocorticoids) excluded. Venous blood sample taken sent laboratory for tests.
 Results: Age included this year mean 41.97 ± 9.76 years. Most them 42 (58.33%) between 41 age. Out patients, 44 (61.11%) male 28 (38.89%) female ratio 1.6:1. Mean duration our 5.71 2.50 .Mean BMI 27.75 3.01 kg/m2.Thyroid present 23 (31.94%) disease.
 Conclusion: Thyroid is frequently found patients.
